UKRPA National Conference 2012 Update

The UK Revenue Protection Association (UKRPA) held its twelfth national conference on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th  June 2012. The event built on the successful 2010 Conference, with particular focus given to smart metering and on-site safety of operatives during and after the roll-out.

The first Conference was in 1993 and has grown from what started as an opportunity for staff employed in combating theft on behalf of the old electricity boards to get together to become an established part of the utility industry’s calendar, including speakers from throughout the UK and internationally (Ireland, India, Israel, Australia/New Zealand etc in past years).

We are proud in having established ourselves as a forum of expert practitioners in both electricity and gas, providing impartial advice and revenue protection services to the industry and its customers. Our 13 members are drawn from a wide spectrum of organisations throughout the energy value chain, from supply to metering to distribution.  The UKRPA prides itself on providing expertise on revenue protection matters affecting the energy industry and contributes to discussions, forums and consultations engaging with government and regulators, and promoting the development of common approaches on issues of training, operating procedures and technical developments.
